PULWAMA (KIMS) — Pulwama Police on Friday issued a public advisory urging social media users, content handlers and members of the media fraternity to strictly refrain from sharing, uploading or circulating any videos or photographs related to the tragic incident involving the minor who slipped into Rambiara Stream and whose body was retrieved today after a five-day search operation.
In the advisory, police directed all individuals who may have already uploaded or circulated such sensitive content to remove it immediately, warning that legal action will be initiated under relevant provisions of law against violators.
Pulwama Police emphasized that the dignity of the deceased child and the privacy of the bereaved family must be respected at all times.
Police said the circulation of such distressing visuals not only intensifies the grief of the family but also amounts to a violation of ethical and legal standards.
Urging the public to act responsibly, Pulwama Police called for utmost sensitivity, restraint, and decorum while using social media platforms, particularly in matters involving personal tragedy.
Pulwama Police also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time. — (KIMS)
