KULGAM — Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a joint search operation in the Tantrypora–Sursnoo orchard area of Kulgam district on Tuesday, dealing a significant blow to the terror ecosystem.
According to Kulgam Police, the recovery was made during a joint Search and Destroy Operation (SADO), also referred to as an orchard sweep, launched on the basis of a specific intelligence input provided by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The operation was carried out jointly by Kulgam Police, the 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the 18 Battalion of the CRPF in the Tantrypora–Sursnoo orchards.
Police said the operation resulted in the recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition, describing it as a major success that has dealt a significant setback to terrorist networks operating in the area.
