SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister on Tuesday inaugurated the fifth edition of the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) J&K Open 2026 at the Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar by unveiling the tournament trophy and performing the ceremonial tee-off.
Welcoming leading golfers from across India and abroad, the Chief Minister said the tournament reflects Jammu and Kashmir’s growing stature as a premier destination for sports tourism and international sporting events.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening tourism infrastructure, enhancing visitor experiences, and promoting niche tourism segments, including golf, adventure, wellness, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the tournament would further boost the Union Territory’s tourism profile while showcasing its world-class golfing facilities and natural beauty to visitors from across the globe. — (KIMS)
