11 IPS officers transferred, police chiefs for Kashmir and Jammu zones replaced

SRINAGAR — J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday ordered the transfer of 11 senior IPS officers and three officers belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service.

According to the order issued by the home department, the police chiefs of both Kashmir and Jammu zones have been replaced.

Sujith Kumar has been named the new IGP for Kashmir Zone, while Tejinder Singh will be the new police chief for the Jammu Zone, the order said.

The incumbent Kashmir IGP, V K Birdi, is proceeding on a central deputation, while Jammu Zone IGP Bhim Sen Tuti has been transferred as IG, Police Headquarters.

ADG Headquarters, M K Sinha, has been transferred and posted as ADG, CID, while incumbent Nitish Kumar will now take charge as ADG, Armed Police.

Uttam Chand, IGP, Police Operations and Services, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Railways, replacing Vivek Gupta.

Chand will continue to hold additional charge as IGP, Police Operations, until further orders.

Gupta has been posted as IGP, Security, while Shakti Kumar Pathak has been deputed as Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau.

SSP Handwara Sahil Sarangal has been transferred and posted as SSP, Pulwama, while Sunny Gupta has been made the new SSP of Kishtwar, replacing Naresh Singh. — (PTI)
