SRINAGAR — The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday conducted a conference of Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) at its headquarters in Peerbagh, Srinagar, to review pending vigilance matters and strengthen departmental mechanisms to curb misconduct.
The conference was inaugurated and chaired by ACB Director Shakti Pathak, IPS, and attended by 51 DVOs from Kashmir-based departments, besides senior officers of the ACB headquarters.
During the conference, the Director reviewed matters pending with the DVOs and stressed expediting old cases on priority.
Pathak emphasised the need for proper enquiries into complaints involving allegations of misconduct by public servants. He directed the DVOs to submit comprehensive enquiry reports that clearly establish whether an element of misconduct is involved.
The DVOs were also advised to remain vigilant about malpractice in their respective districts and departments and promptly communicate any such instances to the ACB for further necessary action.
A presentation outlining the roadmap for conducting enquiries by DVOs was also delivered during the conference. Relevant reading material was provided to the District Vigilance Officers as part of professional inputs and capacity building. — (KIMS)
