SRINAGAR — Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was on Wednesday disallowed from reaching the Press Colony in Srinagar, where families of killed civilians are protesting.
Since morning, families of civilians killed in alleged Srinagar gunfight on Monday are protesting and demanding justice and bodies of their loved ones.
PDP on its official twitter handle said “On her return from Jammu PDP President @MehboobaMufti was on way to press colony to console with the family & participate in the protest, but police blocked the route & did not allow her to move towards protest site. Is demanding the dead body of civilians a crime now?”
Earlier, families appealed Kashmir politicians to raise their voice beyond Twitter and redeem their lost respect, “If you (politicians) really are with us, then join us,” Hanief added.
