SRINAGAR — Police on Friday said that they have recovered an abducted minor girl within 24 hours in Budgam district and arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
According to statement by Budgam police, “On 01/09/2022 evening, Police Post Soibugh received a written complaint from a resident of Khan Mohalla Soibugh stating therein that his minor daughter did not return home after school hours and the school administration stated that she didn’t attend the school today.”
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 306/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was set into motion. Subsequently, a special Police team under the supervision of IC PP Soibugh was constituted to trace out the missing girl,” the statement said.
“During the course of investigation, the Police team acting swiftly and raided various suspected locations. After strenuous efforts and working on some leads, the special team learnt that the missing girl was abducted by one Salib Ahmad Hella son of Assadullah Hella resident of Khuri Batapora Kulgam. The Police party accordingly raided the specific location and recovered the abducted girl,” the statement added.
The statement further said that “the abductor has also been arrested within 24 hours after the complaint was lodged.”
After fulfilling all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the case is going on,” the statement ends. — (KIMS)
