ADGP Stresses Unified Force Efforts to Tackle Yatra Challenges and Ensure Pilgrim Safety
Srinagar: In a significant move to ensure safety and preparedness for the upcoming Yatra, senior officials from various security and disaster response forces conducted a comprehensive briefing and inspection of joint Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs). The session was led by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law & Order cum Commandant General SDRF, accompanied by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, DIG Armed, and commanding officers from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The briefing involved 13 teams from the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), 11 teams from the SDRF, 8 teams from the NDRF, 4 teams from the Border Security Force (BSF), and 2 teams from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The officials meticulously inspected the equipment and readiness of each team, ensuring that all necessary protocols and safety measures are in place for the rigorous tasks ahead.
During the briefing, the ADGP emphasized the critical role of coordination and preparedness in managing the challenging terrain and potential emergencies that may arise during the Yatra. The presence of such a diverse array of forces highlights the importance of a unified approach to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims.
The IGP Kashmir lauded the collaborative spirit among the forces and underscored the importance of vigilance and swift response in case of any incidents. He also reiterated the commitment of the security forces to provide a safe and secure environment for the Yatra participants.
Following the inspection and briefing, all MRT teams were dispatched to their respective deployment zones along the Yatra routes, a top official told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com, adding that this proactive measure aims to bolster the overall security and emergency response framework, ensuring that any potential challenges are addressed promptly and effectively.
