Army soldier goes missing from Budgam, family appeals for help

SRINAGAR — The family members of an Army soldier of JAKLI from Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam who went missing on Monday evening have sought help to trace him.

A family member according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com said Sameer Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Yaqoob Mall, a resident of Lokripora Khag area went missing on Monday evening.

“We tried to contact him but his phone was off following which his friends and relatives were contacted. But all efforts to trace him failed,” he said

If he has committed any mistake, will tell him to resign but return him back, he said adding that “He was on leave since 19 February as his wife has given birth to their second baby just a week ago.”

His mother, wife and sister appealed to everyone that if he is with anyone, return him on humanitarian grounds as he is father of two kids.

Sameer Malla- a resident of Lokipora in Tehsil Khag of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district was recruited as a driver into J&K’s Territorial Army in 2017.

Pertinently, Police in Srinagar had investigated his role after he allegedly transported Major Leetul Gogoi and a local girl to the Srinagar hotel in his private car back in 2018.

A police official confirmed the incident to Kashmir Dot Com and said massive efforts are on to locate his whereabouts.

“Many areas were searched today, Police is trying their best to locate him but couldn’t find any clue about his whereabouts so far,” he said, adding that the last location of the soldier was Khag area at around 0400 hours. — (KDC)
