Army’s 19 RR Sikhli organised Chinar Women’s Premier League in Dooru Anantnag

ANANTNAG — Army’s 19th Rashtriya Rifles SIKHLI organized the first ever Chinar Women’s Cricket Premier League for young girls in Southern part of Dooru Town in which 8 teams from different districts of the Valley are participating.

The inaugural match was played between Anantnag and Kulgam on Monday. Leading Indian cricketer Yousuf Pathan attended the inaugural match as the chief guest .

In South Kashmir’s Anantnag district Womens league was started in Dooru Stadium It was a day of pride & joy for the locals of Dooru, Anantnag as one of their dreams came true.

The much coveted Chinar Women’s Cricket League 2021 was flagged off at the Dooru Cricket Stadium on 30 Aug, 2021.

Eight District Women’s Cricket teams from North & South Kashmir namely Srinagar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Badgam, Baramulla, Kupwara will compete against each other in the clash of the titans to win the much cherished Chinar Champions Trophy.

To add to the glamour of the gala event, Yousuf Pathan Former Ace All- Rounder, Indian National Cricket Team graced the ocassion.

Opening match was played between Team Anantnag v/s Team Kulgam.

The event began with Mr Yousuf Pathan interacting with all the team players and he also flipped the toss which was won by Team Anantnag who decided to bat first.

The match was played with josh with Team Anantnag scoring 211 runs in their 15 overs. Team Kulgam put in their best effort and scored 78 runs.
Team Anantnag won the match by 133 runs.

The event saw extensive local support who cheered the teams with full josh. The cries of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Long Live Cricket’ echoed across the stadium throughout.

Massive media support from all the local as well as national media channels covering the match with live footages.

The event culminated with Mr Yousuf Pathan presenting the Woman of the Match Trophy and addressing the media.

Mr Pathan appealed to the youth of Kashmir and encouraged them to live the spirit of the game and instill the sense of sportsman spirit. He concluded by saying that every player should aspire to play for the National Team.
