Authorities sealed two USG centers for violating norms in Anantnag

SRINAGAR — The authorities in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday sealed two USG centres at Seer Hamdan for violating the norms, officials said.

Quoting an official news agency KDC reported that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Chief Medical officer, a team of the health department headed by Block Medical Officer Mattan raided Tawakal USG centre at Seer Hamdan and found technicians at the centre instead of a radiologist.

Quoting sources the report said on 20th December a patient namely Sajad Ahmad of Aishmuqam had an abdominal USG and was reported having appendix, accordingly attendants took Sajad to hospital where he was operated, but sources said that doctors found nothing inside while operating with the result patient protest against the USG centre.

The Anantnag administration took the matter seriously and sealed the centre today along with other USG centre for violating the government norms.

During checking a doctor identified as Dr Mohammad Amin Rather posted at Pulwama was doing private practice at Tawakal Medical store during official hours, an official who was part of constituted team said adding that a report in this regard was forwarded to CMO Anantnag for further departmental action.
