Authorities should keep check on overloading of light passenger vehicles: Dr Rizwan Rumi

Srinagar: Prominent Social Activist and Regional Head Line of Control (LoC) Peace Mission, Dr. Rizwan Rumi has urged the district administration Kulgam to keep a check on the overloading of autos and other light passenger vehicles covering different routes from Kulgam district.

Dr Rizwan said that the general public suffers due to the indifference of administration towards these issues.

He also said that vehicles who have maximum occupancy of 7-8 passengers carry about 12-13 passengers which can turn to be lethal at times in the form of road mishaps and contracting the COVID.

Questioning the effectiveness of administration Dr. Rizwan said, “If government has decided a schedule for paying the fare in accord with the number of passengers to be carried in the vehicles then why are people charged the full amount regardless of overloading.” (KIMS)
