BJP revokes suspension of two leaders in Kashmir

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday lifted the suspensions of two of its members from Srinagar, following recommendations from the BJP Disciplinary Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JK-UT).

Mr. Asif Massodi and Mr. Manzoor Bhat, who were previously suspended from the party, have been reinstated. The decision comes after both leaders issued unconditional apologies and assured adherence to the party’s organizational discipline in the future.

“On the recommendation of the BJP Disciplinary Committee JK-UT, the suspension/expulsion of Mr. Asif Massodi (Srinagar) and Mr. Manzoor Bhat (Srinagar) from the party is hereby rescinded/revoked in light of the unconditional apologies tendered by both of them and their assurance to abide by the organizational discipline in the future,” reads the statement issued by the party’s J&K President, Ravinder Raina.

The BJP Disciplinary Committee JK-UT reviewed the cases and recommended the revocation of their suspensions, noting their commitment to maintaining party decorum and discipline.

This move is seen as a step towards strengthening party unity and reinforcing the importance of organizational discipline among its members. — (KIMS)
