KOKERNAG (Ess Enn) — The Breng Volleyball Championship 2023 which was organized by 19 Rashtriya Rifles (Sikh Li) was concluded on Wednesday (6th Sep 2023).
The Championship was flagged off on Monday (4th Sep 2023) at Nagam-Soafshali Volleyball Ground.
A total of eighteen (18) teams from Breng valley had participated in the Championship and they were divided in Pool (A) and Pool (B) with nine teams in each pool.
The matches of the Championship were played on knock-out basis with two teams Team Kokernag (Breng 6) and Team Soaf-Shali reaching into the finals.
The final match of the Championship was played between Team Kokernag (Breng 6) and Team Soaf-Shali that was won by Team Kokernag (Breng 6) by 2-0.
With this win, the team Team Kokernag (Breng 6) lifted the Breng Volleyball Championship Trophy 2023.
Colonel Manpreet Singh, SM, Commanding Officer, 19 RR BN (Sikh Li) presented the trophies and medals among the participants.
Major Aashish Dhonchak, Army Camp Kokernag, had ensured the smooth conduct and flawless execution of the tournament.
In addition the media fraternity of Kokernag also received well-deserved accolades from the Commanding Officer for their exceptional live coverage of the matches.
The final match and closing ceremony saw extensive support from PRIs & locals of the Kokernag tehsil who cheered the teams with full enthusiasm. — (KIMS)
