PULWAMA [Mudasir Maqbool] (KIMS) — A Grievance Redressal Camp organised by National Commission for protection of child rights supported by District administration pulwama at Circuit house in South kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
Dr. Divya Gupta, a member of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, emphasized the urgent need for improved facilities for children in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Divya Gupta led the camp, where she was joined by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shahbaz Ahmad Bodha, DYSP Headquarters Pulwama, and district-level officers and representatives from various departments.
The camp aimed to hear and address children’s grievances promptly. About 100 grievances were registered, with some resolved immediately and others noted for further discussion with higher authorities.
Dr. Divya Gupta reiterated the Commission’s commitment to addressing child-related grievances swiftly. She noted that significant changes are needed in Pulwama, urging the government to address these issues urgently. She also mentioned plans to discuss these matters with the Lieutenant Governor of J&K and union ministers, focusing particularly on improving educational facilities for children in the district.
Dr. Gupta pointed out that while children in the UT are keen on education, systemic failures are hindering their access to proper educational facilities. She assured that she would advocate for the necessary resources at both UT and Central levels to ensure children in Pulwama receive the support they need promptly. — (KIMS)
