SRINAGAR — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday expressed grief over the loss of two lives in a massive fire at Durbal locality of Bemina in Srinagar and announced an ex-gratia relief of ₹2 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with those affected by the tragic incident.
He also directed the authorities to ensure immediate relief and necessary assistance to all families affected by the fire.
The fire, which broke out during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, gutted around 80 temporary shelters and claimed two lives. — (KIMS)
