SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister has approved a comprehensive overhaul of the Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for the Poor (CTMFP), aimed at making financial assistance more accessible and patient-centric.
Under the revised scheme, the annual income eligibility ceiling has been increased to ₹4 lakh, while the financial assistance has been enhanced to ₹75,000.
The government has also allowed beneficiaries to avail repeat assistance for up to three sanctions and extended the scheme’s coverage to all hospitals empanelled under PMJAY-SEHAT.
To ensure timely assistance and minimise delays, the financial support will now be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The Chief Minister’s Office said the reforms are intended to provide greater support to economically weaker cancer patients and make the assistance mechanism more accessible and efficient. — (KIMS)
