COVID-19: J&K reports 12 fresh cases

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported only 12 fresh cases pushing the number of active cases to 217 while no death was reported in the last 24 hours in the UT.

With no more death, the death toll in J&K stands at 4,750 and 12 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 453,460.

Officials said that among 217 new cases, 125 belong to Kashmir division while as 92 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 287,270 including 284,722 recoveries and 2,423 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 166,190 including 163,771 recoveries and 2,327 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 217 including 125 from Kashmir division and 92 from Jammu division.

With 37 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 448,493 which is 98.90 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 02 from Srinagar, 01 from Baramulla, 00 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 09 from Jammu division include 02 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.

As per officials figures, 102,326 positive cases including 907 deaths and 101,356 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,620 including 304 deaths and 37,285 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,817 including 34,569 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,420 including 18,217 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,740 including 174 deaths and 21,556 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,419 including 22,200 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,681 cases including 13,559 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,626 including 13,542 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,317 including 16,194 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,304 including 6,244 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 76,137 including 74,862 recoveries and 1,223 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,764 including 14,617 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,803 including 12,553 recoveries and 249 deaths are from Rajouri, 11,520 including 11,359 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,409 including 11,239 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,086 including 8,958 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Samba, 5,892 including 5,842 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,740 including 7,628 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Poonch, 8,137 including 8,060 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,702 including 8,653 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,231,632 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,238 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 217 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 5,736,729 persons have completed the surveillance period and 456,698 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 23,847,105 samples are available. Out of 23,847,105 the number of samples tested negative stands at 23,393,645 while as 453,460 have tested positive, among them 217 cases are active, 448,493 have recovered and 4,750 persons have died. — (KNO)
