NEW DELHI (KIMS) — In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police busted a cross-border smuggling racket and arrested two associates of foreign-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh, alias Nav Bhullar, on Sunday.
Police in a statement said, “Punjab Police recovered 105kg of heroin, 31.93kg of caffeine anhydrous, 17kg of DMR, 5 foreign-made pistols, and 1 desi katta.”
“A water route was used to transport drugs from Pakistan. Big rubber tubes from tires have also been recovered, indicating that narcotic contraband has been smuggled through waterways. Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar have been arrested. An FIR has been registered at PS State Special Operations Cell, Amritsar,” the statement said.
An investigation is ongoing to establish backward and forward linkages to arrest more criminals involved in the drug cartel. — (KIMS)
