Baby delivered during strong earthquake tremors in Anantnag

SRINAGAR — While an earthquake shook the valley on Tuesday evening, the doctors kept their nerve to deliver a baby through lower-segment cesarean section (LSCS) at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

The emergency lower-segment cesarean section (LSCS) was going on at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara during which strong tremors of earthquake were felt.

The staff focused on the job while everything around them was shaking.

Kudos to staff of SDH Bijbehara who conducted the LSCS smoothly and thank god everything is alright, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag said in a tweet.

An earthquake of 6.6-magnitude struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, shook the Valley at around 10:17 pm on Tuesday. The residents rushed out of their homes for safety.
