PULWAMA [Mudasir Maqbool] (KIMS) — Driving test slots will be increased by 10% in all districts of Kashmir division, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, Qazi Irfan announced on Monday.
After assuming charge as RTO Kashmir, Qazi Irfan visited South Kashmir’s Pulwama district to review the functioning of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD).
During his visit, RTO Kashmir assured the public, “The department will provide every possible assistance to address the concerns of the people.” He also directed the officers and staff to “work with dedication and enthusiasm to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.”
Speaking to the media, RTO Kashmir said, “Enforcement drives against traffic violators have been intensified and will continue to ensure better traffic management. In response to the rising demand for driving licenses after the recent enforcement drives, the department has increased driving test slots by 10%.”
Commending the Pulwama office, he remarked, “The Motor Vehicles Department in Pulwama is doing an excellent job and has acted tough against traffic violators, collecting fines amounting to approximately ₹36 lakhs this year.”
He concluded by emphasizing, “Those violating traffic rules will be dealt with as per the law to streamline traffic management across the valley.” — (KIMS)
