SHOPIAN (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police along with CRPF have arrested a drug peddler in Daramdoora, Keegam village in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Saturday and recovered over 16 kgs of contraband substance from his possession.
“During the search operation two nylon bags containing contraband substance weighing 16.700 Kgs charas was recovered from residential house of Imtiyaz Ahmad Hurra, son of Bashir Ahmad Hurra, resident of Daramdoora Keegam by the joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF 14th Bn,” police said in a statement.
“Accordingly, the accused person was arrested and a case, FIR No. 06/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Shopian,” the statement said.
“Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individual,” the statement added. — (KIMS)
