Dry weather in J&K till April 10; Rain, snow from April 11: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Generally dry weather is forecasted in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir until April 10, with an exception on April 5, followed by the onset of rain and snow from April 11, the Meteorological Department (MeT) said on Thursday.

“Today, the weather is expected to remain generally dry in Jammu and Kashmir. Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail from April 6-10,” said an official from the Meteorological Department (MeT).

“However, on April 5, partly to generally cloudy weather is anticipated with light rain or snow at isolated places towards morning. Subsequently, from April 11-12, light rain or snow is expected at isolated places,” he said.

“From April 13-15, the weather is forecasted to be generally cloudy with light rain or snow at many places in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 7.2°C, Qazigund 7.4°C, Kupwara 4.9°C, Kokernag 6.1°C, Pahalgam 2.8°C and Gulmarg minus 1.0°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 17.5°C, Katra 15.6°C, Batote 10.4°C, Bhaderwah 7.2°C and Banihal 9.0°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 0.6°C and Kargil minus 1.7°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
