Dry weather in J&K till tomorrow; Rain, thunderstorm from May 13: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir till May 12.

The weather was dry in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, The weather will remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir till May 12.

He said, From May 13-14, Rain, thunderstorm and lightening is expected at many places of Kashmir region and few places of Jammu region during the late afternoon or evening.

He said, From May 15-16, Partly cloudy weather is expected in the Union Territory.

He said, From May 17-19, Light rain, thunder and lightning is expected at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and Anantnag each recorded 6.8°C, Qazigund 6.9°C, Kupwara 4.7°C, Kokernag 7.1°C, Pahalgam 1.0°C and Gulmarg 5.5°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 17.4°C, Katra 16.8°C, Udhampur 12.8°C, Batote 12.1°C, Bhaderwah 8.0°C, Banihal 10.8°C and Patnitop 12.0°C as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 0.8°C and Kargil 1.5°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
