Dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Sunday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir.

It said that the there will be clear sky in Jammu region and generally cloudy sky in the Kashmir valley during next 24 hours.

The weather was inclement in the Union Territory yesterday.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, clear sky in Jammu and generally cloudy weather is likely in the valley during the next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 4.0 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 3.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region, he said, Jammu recorded 5.8 degrees Celsius, Katra 5.0 degrees Celsius while Batote, Banihal and Bhaderwah recorded minus 0.7 degrees Celsius, minus 0.6 degrees Celsius and minus 2.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region, he said, Drass recorded minus 16.5 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 11.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
