Dry weather to continue in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Saturday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.

The weather was dry in the Union Territory in last 24 hours.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, dry, partly cloudy weather is likely to continue in J&K during the next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded 2.9 degrees Celsius, Gulmarg 0.2 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam recorded minus 1.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region, he said, Jammu recorded 11.3 degrees Celsius, Katra 11.7 degrees Celsius, Batote 8.2 degrees Celsius, Banihal 4.2 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 5.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region, he said, Drass recorded minus 8.5 degrees Celsius, Kargil minus 7.8 degrees Celsius and Leh minus 3.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
