Dry weather to continue in Jammu and Kashmir: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.

It said, partly cloudy sky in Kashmir and dry weather with clear sky in Jammu is expected during the next 24 hours.

The weather remained dry in the Union Territory yesterday.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, mainly dry weather with clear sky in Jammu and partly cloudy in Kashmir is likely during the next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 4.6 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 7.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu regin, he said, Jammu recorded 7.2 degrees Celsius, Katra 8.0 degrees Celsius, Batote 3.8 degrees Celsius, Banihal 0.8 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 1.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region, he said, Drass recorded minus 16.3 degrees Celsius, Kargil minus 17.4 degrees Celsius and Leh minus 12.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
