Dry weather to continue in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.

The weather remained dry in the Union Territory yesterday.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, dry weather is likely to continue in J&K during the next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded minus 0.2 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 3.6 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 4.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region, he said, Jammu recorded 9.8 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.6 degrees Celsius, Batote 6.0 degrees Celsius, Banihal 2.0 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 3.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region, he said, Drass recorded minus 14.8 degrees Celsius, Kargil minus 13.4 degrees Celsius and Leh minus 10.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
