Dry weather to continue in J&K: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

The weather remained dry in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

Sky would be generally clear in Jammu and partly to generally cloudy in the Valley during the next 24 hours, an official of the Meteorological Department said.

He said, maximum temperature is expected to remain around 20.0 degrees Celsius in Jammu and around 4.0 degrees Celsius in the Valley.

Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded 0.4 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minus 8.9 degrees Celsius and minus 8.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Jammu recorded 6.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.8 degrees Celsius, Batote 2.5 degrees Celsius and Banihal 2.2 degrees Celsius while Bhaderwah recorded minus 0.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature

In Ladakh region, Kargil recorded minus 17.6 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 12.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
