Dry weather with dense fog to continue in Kashmir parts till Dec end, rain from Jan 1: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Tuesday forecast generally dry weather with moderate to dense fog in parts of Kashmir region till the end of this month.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “The weather is expected to remain generally dry with moderate to dense fog over Central Kashmir, Plains of Baramulla, Ganderbal and Pulwama district of Kashmir region from December 26 to 31.”

He said, “The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with light rain at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir from January 1 to 2, while light rain and snowfall is expected at scattered places from January 3 to 4.”

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and Qazigund each recorded minus 3.0°C, Kupwara minus 3.5°C, Pahalgam minus 4.7°C, Gulmarg minus 2.4°C and Kokernag minus 2.0°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Tuesday.

The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 7.4°C, Katra 8.0°C, Batote 5.1°C, Bhaderwah 2.8°C and Banihal 1.2°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 11.6°C and Kargil minus 8.2°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
