Encounter breaks out in Budgam’s Chrar-i-Sharief

SRINAGAR — An encounter breaks out between government forces and militants at Chrar-i-Sharief area of Budgam district in Central Kashmir on Saturday late evening.

As per reoprts, 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in this encounter.

They said that the Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) was launched by the joint team of government forces including Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police in the village following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Earlier in the evening, similar kind of operation was launched by the joint team of government forces at Naira village in Pulwama district.

Both encounters were underway when this report was filed.
