SRINAGAR — As the night temperature rises above the freezing point in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley, famous tourist destinations Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded the coldest night of the season on Saturday.
“Mainly clear to partly cloudy weather is expected in J&K and Ladakh during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.
He said Srinagar recorded 0.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while as famous tourist destinations Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded coldest night of the season at minus 9.0 degrees Celsius and minus 8.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 6.1 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.2 degrees Celsius, Batote 1.4 degrees Celsius, Banihal 1.2 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah minus 1.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
In Ladakh region, he said, Drass recorded minus 23.7 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 13.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
