Four drug peddlers arrested in Kashmir

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said to have arrested four drug peddlers in Kashmir valley.

Srinagar Police in a statement said, Two drug peddlers namely Umar Fayaz, Son of Fayaz Ah Bhat and Aarif Ah Dar, Son of Showkat Ah Dar, both residents of Shalteng, Srinagar were arrested along with 12 grams of Heroin and 360 grams of Ganja.

The statement said, The cash of Rs 25,170/- as proceeds of drugs sale was also recovered from their possession and the vehicle was also seized.

In this regard, FIR No 75/2023 in NDPS Act has been registered in Parimpora Police Station and further investigation has been taken up.

Another drug peddler namely Nadeem Ahmad Sheikh, Son of Mohd Shafi Sheikh, a resident of Barthana Qamarwari at present Dastgeer Saab Khanyar Srinagar was arrested along with one kilo and 100 grams of Charas, the statement said adding a car was also seized.

An FIR No. 59/2023 u/s 8, 20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Safakadal in this regard and investigation has been taken up.

The Police in Kulgam district said they have arrested a drug peddler namely Reyaz Ahmad Wani, Son of Mohd Sultan Wani, a resident of Cheyan along with 2 kgs of grinded Cannabis.

A case vide FIR No. 49/2023 under relevancy sections of law has been registered in Police Station, Devsar and investigation has been initiated, the statement said. — (KIMS)
