Four gamblers held in Srinagar; stake money, playing cards, cellphones seized

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested four gamblers in Srinagar district of Kashmir valley on Friday and recovered stake money of ₹7,190/-, playing cards and three mobile phones from their possession.

“Acting on reliable information regarding the gambling activities, a party of Police Station Bemina raided the specific location and arrested four gamblers identified as Mohd Sultan Hanji, son of Ab Rehman, resident of Shah Colony Fruit Mandi, Altaf Ahmed Guroo, son of Ab Hameed, Fayaz Ahmad Dandroo, son of Gh Mohd, and Irshad Ahmad Khanday, son of Gh Mohd Khanday — all residents of Mansoor Colony Bemina,” police said in a statement.

“Stake money of ₹7,190/-, playing cards and 03 mobile phones have been recovered from their possession,” the statement said.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bemina and investigation has been initiated. — (KIMS)
