Four Keralites among five killed in Zojila Pass accident

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — At least five persons including four tourists were killed in a road accident at Zojila Pass along the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.

Reports said, the accident happened after a passenger cab (SUV) in which they were traveling in skidded off the snow-covered road at Zojila Pass and plunged into a gorge, resulting in death to four persons and injuries to one.

The cab was on way to Srinagar, they said.

The deceased persons have been identified as Sudheesh S (33), Anil R (33), Rahul K (28), and Vignesh S (24) — all residents of Nedungode village in Chittur in Palakkad district of Kerala and a driver Ajaz Ahmad Awan of Kangan Ganderbal district.

The injured person has been identified as Manoj M (25), a resident of Nedungode village in Chittur in Palakkad district of Kerala who is undergoing treatment at SKIMS, Soura. — (KIMS)
