Four members of tribal nomadic family died after tree fell on their tent

JAMMU — In a tragic incident, at least four members of a tribal nomadic family, died after a tree fell on their tent in the Keshwan forest area of Kishtwar district.

The incident happened during the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday in Bhalna area of Keshwan forest in the district after a tree fell on their tent due to heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Reports said, The nomadic Bakerwal family on seasonal migration was moving towards Dachan along with their sheep and goats and due to rain they halted their onwards journey and erected their tent at Bhalna forest.

The deceased persons have been identified as Nazir Ahmed, his wife Anwar Begum, Shama Begum, wife of Shoket Ahmed and Shakeel Bano, all residents of district Kathua.
