Srinagar: Fresh snowfall in Kashmir valley on Saturday has disrupted air and land traffic in Kashmir valley.
According to reports, no flight operations have taken place at the Srinagar airport so far today. The runway was not available for flight operations due to the accumulation of snow.
“It is still snowing and hence, it is difficult to clear the runway for flight operations. Several flights have been delayed due to the snowfall,” officials said.
A decision on the resumption of flight operations would be taken as and when the weather improves, they added.
The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was also suspended after fresh snowfall and slippery conditions across Jawahar tunnel.
Hundreds of vehicles are currently stuck between Jawahar Tunnel and Banihal area due to slippery road conditions on both sides of the tunnel.
