Generally dry weather in J&K till December end: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Sunday forecast generally dry weather in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till the end of this month.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “The weather is expected to remain generally dry in Jammu and Kashmir from December 24 to 31.“

He said, “Generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow is expected at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir from January 1 to 3, 2024.“

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded minus 2.1°C followed by Kupwara minus 2.7°C and Qazigund minus 2.0°C. The famous tourist resort Pahalgam recorded minus 3.9°C, Gulmarg minus 3.5°C and Kokernag minus 1.1°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region.

The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 9.6°C followed by Katra 8.8°C, Batote 6.5°C, Bhaderwah 2.6°C and Banihal 7.2°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 10.2°C and Kargil minus 6.8°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
