Govt constitutes task force for the establishment of Public Health Management Cadre in J&K

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted the Task Force for the establishment of Public Health Management Cadre in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an order, The Administrative Secretary, H&ME Department has been appointed as the Chairman while Mission Director, NHM, J&K has been appointed as Member Secretary of the Task Force.

The order reads, Director Coordination New Medical Colleges, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Director Health Services, Jammu and Director AYUSH, J&K have been appointed as Members while Public Health Expert-Dr. Himanshu Bhushan has been appointed as Ex-officio Member of the Task Force.

The order further reads, The Task Force shall develop a comprehensive strategy to align the position of the existing health workforce (regular/contractual) in the UT with the equivalent positions specified in the PHMC guidance note.

The order added, The Task Force shall ensure implementation of appropriate career progression measures for all health workers, including time bound promotions, assured promotions, and ACP (Assured Career Progression) schemes. It shall also formulate a plan to facilitate career mobility and create provisions for the exchange of personnel between different services within the cadre.

The order read, The Task Force shall establish and maintain a centralized repository of data related to the recruitment mechanism, sanctioned positions, workforce distribution and vacancies in different cadres, pay grades, and promotions criteria. It shall also develop comprehensive HR and training policies, alongwith a roadmap for providing public health training to in-service candidates. — (KIMS – VEN Media Group)
