Hotel manager convicted in Anantnag for failing to report foreign guests, fined ₹50,000

ANANTNAG (KIMS) — Anantnag Police on Wednesday said a hotel manager has been convicted by a court in a case related to violation of mandatory reporting requirements concerning foreign nationals.

According to a police statement, the Court of Additional Mobile Magistrate convicted Mohan Lal, son of Darsa Raam, a resident of Chitna, Baderwah, and manager of Hotel Misty Mountain, Movera, in connection with FIR No. 18/2026 registered at Police Station Pahalgam under Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025.

Police said the accused was convicted for failing to upload the mandatory Form C regarding the stay of two Thai nationals who had stayed at the hotel from December 1 to 2.

The court imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on the convict along with one day’s imprisonment.

Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring strict compliance with statutory provisions related to the stay and reporting of foreign nationals, stating that such measures are aimed at strengthening security and regulatory mechanisms in the district. — (KIMS)
