Huge cache of ammunition recovered in Handwara forest: Police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that Police along with Security Forces recovered huge cache of ammunition in Haphruda Forest area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Police in a statement said, Based on reliable input, a joint search operation was launched by Police and Army in Haphruda Forest of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

During search, huge cache of ammunition including 720 rounds of 7.62 mm (most likely of Chinese origin), 05 rounds of RPGs, 09 booster tubes of RPG and 10 x UBGL grenades (most likely of Russian origin), were recovered, the statement said. — (KIMS)
