Immovable property of man providing shelter to militants attached in Pulwama: Police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday attached immovable property of a man accused of providing shelter to militants in Kakapora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

“In a significant move to counter militancy, Pulwama Police attached property including 16 marlas land along with a two-storey residential house under Survey No. 1821 of accused person namely Bilal Ahmad Lone, Son of Gh Qadir Lone, Resident of Nehama Kakapora in case FIR No. 20/2024 under Sections 307 IPC, 7/27 IA Act, and 3/4 Exp/Sub Act, as well as Sections 16, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, and 39 of the UA(P) Act of Police Station Kakapora,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.

“The said accused was involved in providing shelter to the then Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Reyaz Ahmad Dar and his associate militant Rayees Ahmad Dar, who were neutralized at his house on 03rd June 2024,” the statement said.

“The steps taken regarding the attachment of the property is to deter the use of militant finances for personal gains and dismantling the militant support network. Further investigation in the case is still going on,” the statement added. — (KIMS)
