Inclement Weather: Authorities suspend classes up to Primary Level in Mandi

JAMMU (KIMS) — Due to inclement weather conditions, the authorities have ordered the suspension of classwork for all students up to the primary level (Class 5th) today in all schools of Zone Mandi in Poonch district.

However, staff members are required to be present in their respective schools according to the usual schedule.

According to an order issued by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Zone Mandi, Poonch: “In view of the inclement weather conditions and heavy rainfall, and considering the safety of school-going children, it is hereby ordered that classwork for all students up to the 5th Primary Class in all schools of Zone Mandi shall remain suspended on Friday, 30th August 2024. However, all staff members are required to remain present in their respective schools as per the usual schedule.”

“The Heads of the Schools are instructed to inform the students and their guardians well in advance through phone calls, WhatsApp School Groups, or any other suitable medium,” the order added.

Rain has lashed the plains, while higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir have received snowfall over the last 24 hours. — (KIMS)
