SRINAGAR (KIMS) — At least two militants were killed after the army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gugaldhar area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir on Saturday.
“The joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police at Gugaldhar area of Kupwara on Friday (October 4) based on the intelligence about infiltration attempt,” the Indian Army’s Srinagar based Chinar Corps said in a statement.
“The alert troops spotted suspicious activity of some individuals, when challenged, the militants opened fire, leading to an intense firefight. Both militants were killed, and war-like stores were recovered, the statement said.
