Intermittent rain, thunder at many places towards afternoon: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Rain lashed Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours as the Meteorological Department on Friday forecast intermittent light rain, thunder and lightning at many places for next 24 hours.

Generally cloudy weather wih intermittent light rain, thunder and lightning is very likely at many places with moderate showers at one or two places accompanied by gusty winds towards afternoon/late afternoon today in Jammu and Kashmir, an official of the Meteorological Department said.

Light rain, thunder is expected at few places in Jammu and Kashmir towards late afternoon for short period on June 3-4, 2023, he said.

He said, From June 5-10, 2023, Mainly dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir but a brief spell of shower/thunderstorm can’t be ruled out.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and Anantnag each recorded 9.8°C, Qazigund 10.0°C, Kupwara 9.2°C, Kokernag 9.9°C, Gulmarg 3.0°C and Pahalgam 3.2°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 19.6°C, Katra 16.6°C, Batote 10.7°C, Bhaderwah 9.2°C, Banihal 9.3°C, Udhampur 18.1°C and Patnitop N/A as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 2.2°C and Kargil 7.2°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
