SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved three major heritage conservation projects worth ₹18.60 crore across the Union Territory, aimed at preserving historical sites and promoting heritage-led tourism.
According to a post on X by the Office of the Chief Minister, ₹6.86 crore has been approved for the restoration and revival of old heritage structures at Uttervehini Heritage in Samba.
Another ₹6.50 crore has been sanctioned for the repair, beautification and renovation of the historic Basohli Fort in Kathua.
The government has also approved ₹5.24 crore for the revival and restoration of the Yatri Niwas and beautification of the Nallah Soundbrari Spring in Anantnag.
The government said the projects are aimed at preserving Jammu and Kashmir’s rich historical and cultural heritage while opening new avenues for heritage-led tourism across the Union Territory. — (KIMS)
