J&K govt approves land for BSNL towers in 12 remote, border areas

SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Government, headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has approved land for the installation of BSNL mobile towers in underserved areas to strengthen telecom connectivity in remote and border villages, officials said.

The towers will be installed under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) in areas including Uri, Tangmarg, Karnah, Kalakote, Kralpora, Basantgarh, Khour, Latti Marothi, Banihal, Pogal Paristan, Ramsoo and Qila Darhal.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the initiative will improve reliable connectivity for remote communities and expand access to digital services and opportunities. — (KIMS)
