J&K Students Association sends legal notice to Turkey based ‘TRT World’ for using fake image of three Kashmiri Students

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Students Association here today sent legal notice to Turkey based Outlet TRT World for using and broadcasting fake images of three Kashmiri students and landing them in Trouble.

Association sent a copy of legal notice, through their lawyer Aamir Masoodi, claiming defamation of three Kashmiri students seeking a compensation of Rs. 1 Crore for exposing their lives to high risk and loss of career, education and reputation.

Legal notice On behalf of National Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami told srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com, TRT World broadcasted a news content without verifying actual facts regarding three Kashmiri Students who were arrested in Agra for celebrating and cheering in support of Pakistan cricket team after India Pakistan T-20 world Cup Match.

The notice reads, TRT World displayed the photographs of other three Kashmiri students namely Talib Majeed, Basit Ahmad Sofi and Aamir Mohidin Wani who are currently studying in Karnataka India, claimed that these Kashmiris Languish in Indian Jail and are facing sedition charges for praising Pakistan, which is totally baseless, highly libellous and concocted.

It says, all three students have no direct or indirect nexus with the Agra sedition case. These three Kashmiri students who are currently studying in Hubbali Karnataka through Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) were once maliciously arrested in the year 2020 for raising objectionable slogans, but were released and now have been shifted to mainstream completely and living their normal life peacefully and studying in Karnataka Private college through PM Scholarship Scheme.

TRT maligned the image, reputation and educational career of these three innocent Kashmiri students who are studying in Hubbali Karnataka, India in the general estimation of the public by uploading the Photographs openly on the channel, and on account of your visible representations; oral as well as written words you defamed three Kashmiri students and as your baseless reported News content bought the honour and dignity to disrepute and has shaken; rather tarnished the prestige of these three innocent Kashmiri students, added the notice.

These three Kashmiri students suffered in terms of irreparable loss/injury to their career and reputation. Besides a serious prejudice, Without plausible and concrete facts and with the ulterior motives, TRT World have caused mental agony to these three Kashmiri students and their families and due to this, photographs of all the three innocent Kashmiri students was trolled in for next 24 hours and people throughout India started abusing them, khuehami said through its Legal notice.

TRT must tender an unconditional apology to these three innocent Kashmiri students, failing which we shall proceed with defamation proceedings as advised by our legal team, Khuehami said while challenging TRTs’ Claim. — (KDC)
