J&K Teachers Forum Pulwama organizes awareness program on NEP 2020, drug abuse

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Pulwama, under the leadership of its chairman, Mohd Shafi Rather, held an awareness program at the district headquarters in Pulwama.

The event focused on raising awareness about the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and addressing the growing issue of drug abuse in society.

The program was attended by senior members of the forum, including Vice President, Treasurer, District President Pulwama Ghulam Hassan Mir, and zonal presidents from across the district.

They emphasized the importance of effectively implementing NEP 2020 and combating the menace of drug abuse to create a progressive and drug-free society.

During the event, the chairman, Mohd Shafi Rather, highlighted the forum’s commitment to the welfare of teachers and the holistic development of students.

He stressed that awareness campaigns on NEP 2020 and drug abuse are crucial in shaping a better future for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

District President Ghulam Hassan Mir urged parents to enroll their children in government schools, citing improved facilities such as 24×7 libraries, internet access, and modern infrastructure, which provide an enriching learning environment for students.

Provincial President Javid Ahmad Bhat addressed the challenges faced by teachers in Jammu and Kashmir, including issues related to the RET transfer policy and GP fund delays.

He assured the gathering that the forum is steadfast in its efforts to resolve these issues, enabling teachers to focus fully on their primary responsibility of nurturing students.

The event concluded with a collective pledge to work towards the full implementation of NEP 2020 and to intensify efforts to eliminate drug abuse, ensuring a brighter and healthier future for the youth of the Union Territory. — (KIMS)
