SRINAGAR — Kashmir University has placed an Assistant Professor under suspension in connection with the registration of an FIR at Police Station Nigeen, Hazratbal.
According to an official order issued by the Deputy Registrar Administration, Dr Altaf Ahmad Ganie, Assistant Professor in the Department of Kashmiri, has been suspended with immediate effect pending inquiry.
The order states that the action has been taken under University Statute 3.16 subsection 2 read with Regulation 12 subsection 3 clause IV. It further says that Dr Ganie, who also uses the pen name Shafqat Altaf, will remain attached with the Office of the Dean Research during the period of suspension.
